Worcester Arts Magnet School's Parent Teacher Group.

Worcester Arts Magnet School is an elementary school teaching Pre-School through 6th grade, with integration of the visual and performing arts.

WAMS PTG Race For Education is our biggest fundraiser and a fun day for our students.  Students will get to walk laps for an hour with their friends, listen to music, and watch teachers and 6th graders get dunked in a dunking booth. The money raised will help us get new technology, new items for recess, new water fountains, fund field trips, special artist visits to teach the students, family fun events, and educational needs beyond the school budget!

The funds raised in years past were used for the following enrichments and programs:

  • Chromebooks and technology updates.

  • Playground toys.

  • Waterbottle station and water fountain.

  • Information monitor.

  • Educational initiatives like, Headsprouts and school-wide curriculum enhancements.

  • Grade level field trips and/or buses to Preservation Worcester, New England Aquarium, Plimoth Plantation, Worcester Art Museum, Ecotarium and more.

  • Artist in Residence, including storytellers, circus, drummers, screen printers and more.

  • The Urban Voices Chorale Initiative, in partnership with the Metropolitan Opera Guild, integrating music into classroom lessons as preschool through grade 4 children wrote songs with the director and learned vocal techniques such as singing in rounds.

  • Theatre events at The Hanover Theatre.

  • Classroom based programs from Preservation Worcester, the New England Aquarium, Plimouth Plantation, Star Lab and Massachusetts Audubon.
